picMatch uses automation to validate the data that it has found, and gather extra information (augmented information) to complement the data.
If your website received a request from us, it will show the following as the User-Agent header item:
picMatchBot/x.x (+https://www.picmatch.io/bot)
Where x.x is the version of the Bot.
picMatchBot only accesses your website to validate that an image exists, and to get the actual image, to help the user of picMatch see what was found, and where their image has been shared/published. It will also do a query on the actual page, to confirm that it exists.
The purpose of picMatch is to do good and curb Image Theft by helping media creators know where their media has been shared/used online.
